The International Laboratory for Environmental Radiological Surveillance (LIVRA) specializes in the design, manufacture, distribution, and installation of its own equipment for real-time, autonomous measurement of environmental radioactivity. In parallel, the laboratory carries out continuous analysis of the recorded data and the preparation of technical reports to ensure permanent and rigorous surveillance of the monitored areas.
LIVRA is part of the Medical Physics Unit at the Rovira i Virgili University.
Since 2006, the Medical Physics Unit has contributed to improving the Environmental Radiological Surveillance Network of Catalonia by providing research studies on state-of-the-art equipment and fast, precise analysis methods.
All the innovations obtained are routinely applied both to the equipment and to the daily and periodic analysis reports managed by LIVRA.
Committed to quality, the Radon Laboratory of the Medical Physics Unit obtained ENAC ISO 17025 accreditation in 2024 for radon measurement using passive detectors.
